Hay Days July 3rd and July 4th Parade
Come on downtown on the afternoon of July 3, starting at 4:00 p.m., when we travel back in time. The Town of Danville is hosting a community picnic at the Town Green on Front Street, in front of the Library. The fabulous Cruisetones will be playing music from the 1950s. Other Hay Days events will be held at the Railroad Avenue Parking Lot, where the Kiwanis Club of the San Ramon Valley and Safeway will be hosting carnival games, a kids and pets costume parade, an ice cream giveaway from Dreyer’s, an old fashioned bathing suit show, live music, train rides, an Arabian horse show and the coronation of Miss Pioneer Belle. The Discover Danville Association is hosting two evenings of street closures with music, and entertainment as merchants play host to wine tasting and food pairing- in a car-free environment. The entire community is invited and encouraged to display their civic pride by shopping and dining locally on these two evenings. Whether it is sampling fine cuisine in an ambience that is uniquely Danville, perusing a specialty boutique, enjoying the sounds of roving musicians, or savoring a cup of coffee - come downtown and experience the essence that defines Danville.
Art and Wine Stroll – August 14th 6-9pmOn September 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Discover Danville Association will host the Antique and Art Faire on Railroad Avenue. Antique retailers from the Tri-Valley and local artists will display their collectables for your shopping pleasure. The Museum of the San Ramon Valley will host an antique appraisal clinic, and for a nominal fee you can dust off those hidden treasures in your house and take them in for an appraisal.
